Grid Coupling
Used in applications where high power and torque have to be transmitted in machinery with shock and vibration loads where shaft misalignment is evident.
Taper grid couplings come in two basic styles:- Horizontal split or Vertical split (which have a slightly higher speed capability and are easier to fit in space restricted areas)
The taper grid, the wear part of the coupling, accomodates misalignment in 3 planes and acts as a damper, reducing transmitted vibration by up to 30%. It can also act as an overload device.
The grid is quickly replaced if required and as the 2 hubs require no resetting, realignment is unnecessary and downtime is minimised.

Tyre Coupling
A tyre coupling is an elastic coupling and consists of a flexible element the tyre and two coupling halves, also referred to as the hub or flange. The coupling half is made from cast iron and is available in both pre-drilled and clamping bush variants for quick installation and removal. In the latter case, the hub has a conical bore for the clamping bush. The flexible element consists of a rubber composite as standard; Our product specialists can give you more detailed information on this. As tyre couplings are flexible, they can compensate for significant angle errors and have a vibration and impact-damping effect. Furthermore, they are extremely adaptable for a range of alignment errors and they are also maintenance-free. They are also suitable for dirty environments, for example for those contaminated by oil or grease. Tyre couplings are also available on request as models with a spacer or flywheel.

Oldham Coupling
This coupling has stainless steel hubs and black-oiled alloy steel fasteners for strength, durability, and corrosion resistance. The flexible plastic torque disc provides durable, low-friction flexion and accommodates misalignment by sliding between the two axes of the hubs. It can operate in temperatures ranging from -4 to 140 degrees F (-20 to 60 degrees C). This stainless steel coupling is for use in parallel misalignment applications that require zero backlash, such as in actuators, pumps, positioning slides, and other stepper drive applications. Flexible couplings are used to link two rotating shafts that are not aligned in order to transmit the rotational power, known as torque, from one shaft to the other. Most flexible couplings consist of two hubs and a middle assembly; each hub attaches to a shaft while the middle assembly flexes between the hubs to accommodate the misalignment of the two shafts.

Flexible Disc Coupling
A coupling is a device used to connect two shafts together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting power. Couplings do not normally allow disconnection of shafts during operation, however there are torque limiting couplings which can slip or disconnect when some torque limit is exceeded.
The primary purpose of couplings is to join two pieces of rotating equipment while permitting some degree of misalignment or end movement or both. By careful selection, installation and maintenance of couplings, substantial savings can be made in reduced maintenance costs and downtime.

Fluid Couplings
EPZH Fluid couplings are fixed fill mechanical soft start devices which utilize hydrokinetic energy to transmit torque via a system of impellers. The input impeller functions similar to a centrifugal pump and hydraulic turbine. When the input drive moves, it transmits kinetic energy to the oil which is distributed in the housing and transmits torque by engaging the outer impeller. The Dodge Fluid coupling allows the driver to start under “no load”, resulting in a smooth start up and reduction of amp draw from the motor. Since there is no physical connection inside the housing, the Dodge Fluid coupling has built-in overload protection and inherent torsional vibration absorption. Additionally, load balancing is possible with the use of asynchronous motors, instead of custom motors, since the Fluid couplings automatically adjust to load speed.
